Thoughtful Nutrition

Every puppy is unique, and what works best for my dogs may not be the perfect fit for yours. The diet my puppies transition to after weaning reflects what has worked well within my own pack, based on careful observation and thoughtful adjustments over time. This approach has been shaped by research, experience, and recipes that have proven successful for us. Individual results may vary. You may need to make small adjustments to find what best supports your puppy’s specific needs.

A well-suited diet should support consistent energy, healthy weight gain and maintenance, strong bone development, and overall vitality. Ideally, you’ll see well-formed stools, reduced odor, a soft and shiny coat, and fewer allergy-related symptoms if food sensitivities are a concern. Paying attention to these markers will help guide you toward the best nutritional balance for your puppy.

Beef

I use 85/15 ground beef as a protein source, adjusting fat content as needed. Fat can be beneficial for growing puppies, while some dogs may do better with leaner meals. Always tailor portions to your dog’s individual needs and veterinary guidance.

Eggs

I alternate weekly between eggs and salmon to provide varied protein, omega support, and essential vitamins. Eggs are naturally rich in vitamins A, B7 (biotin), and D, and may support muscle development, immune health, and a soft, shiny coat.

Goat Milk Powder

Used as a meal topper to provide additional nutrients that support growing puppies. Naturally rich in calcium, phosphorus, vitamin D, and magnesium, it helps support healthy bone development when used as part of a balanced diet.

Salmon

Salmon is included every other week as a high-quality protein that pairs well with beef and is highly palatable for most dogs. Naturally rich in omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins B and D, it supports joint health, metabolism, immune function, and skin and coat condition.

Puppy Kibble

Used as a meal topper to support balanced growth. Puppy-formulated kibble provides consistent calcium and phosphorus, along with essential vitamins and minerals, helping bridge potential nutritional gaps within a whole-food feeding approach.

Dr. Harvey’s Paradigm

Used as part of our feeding approach to provide a foundation of whole-food ingredients that support digestion, nutrient absorption, and overall balance. When paired with quality proteins, it helps round out meals with plant-based nutrients often missing from meat-only diets.

Cheese Tax

The cheese tax is non-negotiable. Unless your pup has a sensitive stomach… then blueberries, peanut butter, or other gentle treats are acceptable substitutes.
